Booking for the first time? Here’s exactly what happens, so there are no surprises on the day — for you or your child.

01 · Before

A proper welcome email.

As soon as you book, you’ll get a confirmation with the venue, what to wear, what to bring, the dates in your block and a link to the parents’ WhatsApp group.

02 · On arrival

A familiar face at the door.

Arrive five minutes early. We’ll greet you and your child by name, show you the hall, and answer any last-minute questions. Parents stay throughout.

Warm welcome, fundamental movement work, the sport or skill of the week, and a calm finish. Every session is built around the five strands of child development.

04 · After

Ten minutes of free play to finish, and a quick word from your coach on the way out. Milestones are tracked every session, so progress is always moving.

What to bring

Why parents choose ActiveED

More than a run-around.

Built and led by a Director of Sport with nine years in PE classrooms. Every session is planned, inclusive and focused on helping children grow in confidence, movement, teamwork and independence.

🛡️

Safeguarding first

Enhanced DBS, paediatric first aid and annual safeguarding training, in place before a single session runs. Medical and SEND information gathered properly at booking.

🌱

Development over performance

Children are celebrated for effort, confidence, kindness, listening and trying new things — not for being the fastest or the most skilful.

🏅

Milestones that mean something

Your coach tracks progress across five strands of development every session. Badges are earned, not handed out, and every one comes with a printable certificate.

“My 3 year old loved her session! It was super interactive, the variety of sports they did was great. The session is well structured — both Ryan & Shannon are very encouraging ensuring all the children are having a good time.”

“Took my nearly 18-month-old daughter for the first time. Several different activities focusing on different aspects of sporting capability, followed by 10 minutes of free play. A good fun environment where the kids could do as best they could with no pressure.”

Nervous about your child’s first session?

That is completely normal. Tell us when you book and we’ll plan a gentler entry: your child can watch from the side, join in slowly and stay close to you until they’re ready. No child is ever pushed in at ActiveED.

Before you book

The questions every parent asks.

Quick answers to the things families ask most. There’s a full FAQ if you want more.

Which session is right for my child?

Go by age. The 10:00am session is for 16 months to 2 years, with a parent joining in. The 9:00am session is for 2 to 5 years. Children right on the line can go either way — email us with their date of birth and we’ll recommend one.

Do I stay or drop off?

Parents stay for both sessions. With the under 2s you’re on the floor joining in — that’s the whole point. With the 2 to 5s you’re welcome to watch from the side, and most parents do.

Can we try a session before committing to a block?

Yes. A single taster is £11, space permitting — message Ryan first to check. If you go on to book the block, that £11 comes straight off the block price.

We’re joining partway through. Do we pay for the whole block?

No. You only pay for the Saturdays left in the block, and the booking calendar shows the exact figure before you confirm.

What if we miss a week?

We offer one free make-up session per block — just let us know in advance where you can. If a session is ever cancelled on our side, you get a free make-up session or a credit, your choice.

My child is nervous. Will they be okay?

Yes, and we’d rather hear about it before the session than during. Tell us when you book and we’ll plan a gentler entry, brief the coach, and let your child watch from the side until they’re ready. No child is ever pushed in.

My child has SEND, allergies or a medical condition.

Please tell us when you book — there’s a box for it. We plan around what your child actually needs, and we can only do that if we know. Any sensory item, comforter or communication aid your child relies on is welcome.

Can I get a refund?

Half-term blocks are refundable up to 7 days before the block starts. After that, we offer a credit toward a future block or a make-up session.

Siblings?

Very welcome. Mention them when you book and we’ll fit both children into sessions that work for the whole family’s Saturday morning, and work out the best combined rate.

Two minutes to book

Ready when you are.

Pick a session, tell us about your child, and we’ll see you both on Saturday. Still unsure? Ryan reads and replies to every message personally.
